Moby Dick

Stage @ The Dock Hull, June 2021

About the Play

In June 2021, a radical reworking of Herman Melville's epic classic novel Moby Dick was brought to life by playwrights John Godber and Nick Lane in Hull's own amphitheatre Stage@TheDock.

Performed by eight vibrant and talented local actors and musicians, including the Godber Theatre Foundation member Caitlin Townend, this production had references to Hull's maritime history and contemporary discussions regarding oceanic conservation, and was performed to socially distanced audiences across 12 nights in the open summer air.

This production was supported by Arts Council England and the Wykeland Group.
