Happy Jack
Uk Tour, Summer 2024
Happy Jack
By John Godber
The hilarious, touching and political 'Happy Jack', is brought especially to theatres across Yorkshire this summer, as a celebration of miners and mining heritage across the county.
Capturing the ups and downs of ordinary working class family life – at the coal face, in the pit village, on the donkeys and by the fireside, this was John Godber’s very first play, written when he was 25.
Join Jack and Liz through their own "romantic-comedy" - first meetings, children, work, holidays - follow the up and downs of their lives, from the hilarious to the heartbreaking, and explore what love truly is all about.
This production is in celebration of miners and their wives all over the world, but especially in Yorkshire.
